Laryngeal Imaging and Videostroboscopy Course, New Presentations, and PYV!

Laryngeal Imaging& Videostroboscopy Course

Still on a voice HIGH from a training course/workshop a few weeks ago.  I was asked to train a small group of wonderful SLPs on videostroboscopy and thoroughly enjoyed creating a comprehensive course for them that incorporated lecture, a hands-on workshop, practice with performing the exams (on each other, themselves, and “patients”), and lots of learning and practice with interpretation.

Teaching and collaborating with other like-minded people brings me such JOY and I am SO grateful for the opportunity I was given to share my PASSION and experience with performing and interpreting videostroboscopy. This intensive course really reminded me of my LOVE for teaching and for experiencing the evolution and growth shared through small community and continuing education. It is such a GIFT to watch others learn and come alive in the areas I am passionate about too.

CONGRATS to these ladies on successfully completing the three day course! I’m looking forward to collaborating with you more in the future and am so grateful for our time together!!!

Sidenote: I’ve had a bunch of people reach out about if I’m offering a course online or in person related to videostroboscopy. Although this opportunity was a BLESSING out of the blue, I really took a ton of time developing the course and I do think it may have opened up a beautiful possibility for education, outreach, and voiceFUN! Stay tuned because I have a feeling there’s a lot more coming!!!!

New Presentations...

In late October, I was also asked to provide a presentation for graduate students at Andrews University in Michigan. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my passion for the otolaryngology side of speech pathology with these students who were all about ready to embark on their clinical placements. I always love when I get the opportunity to provide any presentations or talks for graduate students, especially about my specialties within the field of speech pathology. In the past, I've given talks to graduate students at Armstrong Atlantic State University, Georgia State University, Florida Atlantic University, and Arizona State University.

.

Additionally, in early November, I was asked to give a presentation about VOICE (in the business professional context) to the leadership staff/faculty within my company nationwide. It was a wonderful interactive presentation focused on occupational voice use, efficient voice use, and dynamic voice use specific to the business professional setting incorporating voice coaching and therapy concepts as well as those more related to public speaking. It LIT ME UP in the middle of a normal patient-filled work day and was a pleasure to be a part of. I got a lot of great feedback, especially related to the learners' new knowledge that they truly are occupational voice users, and all of the ways they can enhance their work-related voice use and IMPACT others via their VOICE(S).

Anddd of course, always REMEMBER to PRIORITIZE YOUR VOICE!

How are YOU prioritizing your voice today? And everyday? As an OCCUPATIONAL VOICE USER, it should be one of your top priorities!
.

.
What do you need to know to keep your voice healthy?  You should understand how the voice works, how to protect and care for your voice, and how to use your voice and entire vocal mechanism in the most efficient, effective, and dynamic ways possible.
.
.
I’m super PASSIONATE about this population of voice users (I’m one and most of you are too!), and am HERE TO HELP! Reach out with any questions, concerns, or if you’d like to work together. Email me at [email protected]
